Color Point Information

This page is to help explain with visual reference the different point color patterns that Balinese, Siamese, and some Snowshoe may have. Many people have asked me questions like "how you can tell the difference between Red and Cream",  "what is a Tortie point", or "what is a Lynx point?". There are people who think they have a chocolate point when in reality they have a seal point. The same happens with the red points and cream points, as well as with the blue points and lilac points. Many people do not realize that the color of the paw pads and noses are different with many of the color variations. With each variation in color, the paw pads and nose tend to be a bit lighter depending on the shade..

The Siamese and Balinese share the same coloration patterns. The blue eyes are always there regardless of the point color. Point colors do not effect the different shades  of blue in eye color. However, the color variations in these cats cat effect allergies. From what feed back we have gotten from other breeders and most allergy suffers, the lighter colors like silver may not be hypoallergenic. So before you ever get a kitten and you suffer from allergies, make sure you always spend time with the kitten you are wishing to purchase.
